Giving To Chesterwye Center
There are many ways you can support the Chesterwye, and gifts of all sizes make a difference.
Your tax-deductible gift will help us continue to inspire hope and contribute to the health and well-being of those with disabilities by providing the best possible care, opportunities to live and work in the community, health services, stimulating activities and quality of life in a "family style" home designed for the unique needs of each individual.
Why Support the Chesterwye?
For over 55 years the Chesterwye Foundation has provided funding to assist individuals with developmental and intellectual differences. Did you know that Chesterwye provided the first "alternative" homestyle living for disabled citizens in the State of Maryland and continues to provide quality of life for individuals with a wide range of disabilities?
Give with Confidence
The Chesterwye Foundation sustains a 95 Charity Navigator score for outstanding management and allocation of funds directly to special needs. Your gift holds great power to help Chesterwye continue to transform the lives of individuals with disabilities.
Ways To Give
Gift Named for a Loved One
A donation of any size can be made in the name of a loved one to honor them. If you wish, an acknowledgment page will be created for the gift or a plaque at the Chesterwye can be added for any gift greater than $1000. How you honor your loved one is entirely up to you.
Gifts from a Will or Trust
Simply name Chesterwye Foundation as a beneficiary in your will or trust. Doing so will not affect cash flow during your lifetime.
Gifts by Beneficiary Designations
Name Chesterwye as the beneficiary of a retirement plan, financial account, or annuity. You will continue to benefit from these assets during your lifetime.
Gifts of Life Insurance
Gift unused life insurance policies to Chesterwye Foundation and take an immediate tax deduction. You may also name Chesterwye Foundation as a beneficiary of your policy.
Gifts of Appreciated Securities and Real Estate
Gift securities or real estate to Chesterwye without impacting your cash flow. You may also avoid capital gains tax.
Gifts of Personal Property
Valuable assets including artwork, collectibles, and jewelry that you no longer want or need may be gifted to Chesterwye Foundation and qualify for tax deduction.
Gift of Your Home
If you own your home and wish to remain living there, you may transfer it to Chesterwye while retaining the right to use it during your lifetime. Enjoy the added benefit of an income tax deduction.
